Cloud computing for health industry

Cloud computing application gets wider areas, including health service. A new service based on clod computing has been launched to assist doctors and its health industries. That’s sound interesting!

I expect the use of advanced technology will increase the benefit for all-level of patient, not only enjoyed by the wealthiest group. My question, do the application of cloud computing at health service will increase its cost of treatment such lung cancer treatment cost?

WashingtonPost reported the launching og UnitedHealth Group’s Optum service that allows doctors to share information about patients over the Internet, as health care companies continue their push to improve care with better coordination.

“The system, known as cloud computing, involves storing information and software applications on remote servers that are accessed through a secure Internet connection,” writes the newspaper.

The news unveiled how the Optum has worked with Cisco, IBM and Hewlett-Packard Co., to design the cloud and develop a set of apps called Optum Care Suite to help providers use it.
